Forming Young Hearts Through Worship

Forming Young Hearts Through Worship

Guest post by the Rev. Christopher Klukas

I think that every Christian parent desires to see their children grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord so that they become committed Christian adults. Unfortunately, many of the parents I meet have no idea of what they are supposed to do to help this happen. While there is no magic bullet or formula you can follow that will guarantee that your children will remain committed to the Lord as they grow, there are things you can do to provide fertile soil to nurture their seedling faith. In the end, you can plant seeds of faith and water them, but it is God who gives the growth (1 Corinthians 3:6). Because of this, the first and most important thing you can do is pray for your children and ask God to give you wisdom in how to raise them.

Building a Life-Affirming Family

Building a Life-Affirming Family

In a culture that denies the sacredness of human beings made in Gods image, the family must teach these foundational truths by modeling and teaching respect and love for people of all ages. At the Anglican Family Symposium, I led a workshop on this topic, titled "Building a Life-Affirming Family." This workshop discussed ways to accomplish this goal and also acknowledged common issues that can undermine family stability.

Signs of Love

Signs of Love

Signs of Love is a translation of a book by Father Renzo Bonetti, a Roman Catholic priest who lives near Verona in northern Italy.  Originally published as The Liturgy of the Family, Signs of Love is an extended meditation on marriage as a living icon of God’s love. In Father Bonetti’s words, each marriage is “a book of God written in flesh” that instructs the couple and the world in the relationship of total self-giving that exists between the three Persons of the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
